Three generations of history

The family VALDELANA is growing grapes in Elciego from the end of the 19th century. Right now we own around 150 hectares of vineyards of the varieties Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, Viura and Malvasía, all of them located in Elciego and surroundings, within the sub-region Rioja Alavesa, and with quite low yields.

The cellar is run by the third generation of the family and Juan Jesús Valdelana is the winemaker and the General Manager of the company. The philosophy of Bodegas VALDELANA is to produce high quality wines out of their own grapes, so that they can control the quality from the beginning up to the final product.

In the cellar underneath, there are some rooms dating back the 16th century. The bodega has in the upper floor a little museum with tools and winemaking machinery from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
