The VALDELANA family has been growing grapes in Elciego since the end of the 19th century. We currently own around 150 hectares of Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, Viura and Malvasía vineyards, all located in and around Elciego within the Rioja Alavesa sub-region and with fairly low yields.
The winery is now managed by the third generation of the family and Juan Jesús Valdelana is the oenologist and manager of the company. The philosophy of Bodegas VALDELANA is to produce high quality wines from their own grapes so that quality can be controlled at all times: from the beginning to the final product.
On the ground floor of the winery there are rooms dating back to the 16th century. On the upper floor of the winery there is a museum where all the utensils necessary to produce wine from the 19th and early 20th century are on display.
